About the blog
Corvel answers appointment texts for more than 200 clinics and salons. That puts us in an odd spot: we see an enormous number of the small conversations that decide whether a chair or a treatment room is full on a Tuesday afternoon. This blog is where we write down what those conversations teach us.
What we write about
- Cancellations and no-shows. What they cost, when they happen and what actually reduces them.
- Waitlists. How to run one that fills slots instead of annoying people.
- Reminders and messaging. Wording, timing and what clients reply to.
- The front desk. The work that keeps a clinic or salon running and rarely gets written about.
When we quote numbers, they come from Corvel's own aggregate data across our customers, with nothing that identifies a business or a client. We say so when a figure comes from a smaller sample.
Who writes it
Mostly Priya Raman (co-founder, previously ran scheduling for a physical therapy group), Hana Sato (customer success, previously managed a salon) and Marcus Bell (engineering, who built the waitlist engine).
